Cancer survivors surprise their doctors and nurses with letters

In a new clip that brings us both tears of joy and a full heart, cancer survivors and family members of those affected have performed a priceless gesture for the dedicated souls who stood by their side from day one of their cancer journey.

Medical caregivers on the Providence Cancer Center recently sat down for a video interview, but there surely weren’t prepared for what happened next.

Instead of the usual question-and-answer process, the doctors and nurses were asked to real aloud a letter addressed just to them.

Tears welled up as the selfless professionals began reading the touching words of those so thankful for their tireless duties.

“Because of you I get to play with my grandchildren, love my family and do things that are priceless,” reads one nurse.

Having only read the first line of her letter, oncologist Dr Sanborn says with a quiver in her voice: “I don’t know if I’ll be good at reading this aloud.”

Sadly, it seems her patient was unable to win his battle with cancer, but a grateful family member took the opportunity to thank Dr Sanborn for her undying dedication.

“Although it’s been a while since out loved one lost his battle with lung cancer, we continue to hold you close in our hearts.

“While he was the most unfortunate to get cancer, we were most fortunate to get you, and you will remain in our hearts along with him forever.”
