If you’ve been putting off having a mammogram for as long as you can remember (i.e. longer than the recommended two-year period), it’s time to make it a priority. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting Australian women, and nine out of 10 of those women don’t have any family history. Early detection really is the best protection.

Media personality Deborah Hutton was kind enough to let us join her as she made time for her routine, two-yearly screening mammogram recently. Watch as Deborah’s butterflies and nervousness quickly fade, and those 20 minutes start to feel like very few.

UPDATE: Discover the unexpected results of Deb’s mammogram in the video below.

A screening mammogram is now free for women between the ages of 50 and 74—you won’t even need to see a doctor first for a referral. Call 13 20 50 or visit cancerscreening.gov.au now to book an appointment.
