“I don't want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.”

Chrissy Teigen is putting a stop to her alcohol-fuelled antics, after admitting that she was “point blank, just drinking too much.”

The mum-of-one revealed that drinking became part of her routine because it is so easily accessible in her daily life.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, the Lip Sync Battle host said, “I got used to being in hair and makeup and having a glass of wine. Then that glass of wine would carry over into me having one before the awards show.

“And then a bunch at the awards show,” she continued. “And then I felt bad for making kind of an ass of myself to people that I really respected.”

“And that feeling, there’s just nothing like that. You feel horrible. It’s not a good look for me, for John [Legend], for anybody.”

Teigen, Legend and their 16-month-old daughter Luna, recently went to an alcohol-free wellness retreat in Bali. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “My body and mind have never felt so clear. Thank you for getting me to move again (first time since I was 8 months pregnant and Luna is ummmm 15 months old) and giving me some much-needed body and nutrition schooling!”

After revealing that her family has a history of alcohol abuse, she said, “Imagine everything we have. Everything is there, always. I don’t know how to go to an awards show and not drink.”

The cookbook author explained that she’s cutting out alcohol so she can feel her best. “I knew in my heart it wasn’t right,” she said. “It makes you very short with people. People think it’s cutesy and fun to go on these boozy brunches, but there’s more to it. I’ve never once been like, ‘I’m sure glad I had that boozy brunch!’”

She continued, “I don’t want to be that person. … I have to fix myself.”

The family-of-three have recently been vacationing together before Teigen and Legend try for another round of IVF.

“We’re going to try to have a child. This is for us to try to get in the zone of ‘let’s travel, let’s be away together, let’s see our closest friends,’ and then we’re going to have to do something super hard, which is the IVF process, all over again,” she said.
