The 2019 award season is well and truly underway!

Today’s glamorous event? The 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Held annually, the SAGs, which are voted on by a panel of actors, celebrate the most outstanding talent in film and TV and are considered a pretty good precursor for who may score an Academy Award the following month.

The 25th Screen Actors Guild Awards will be hosted by actress, comedian and singer Megan Mullally.

On the home front, Queensland-born beauty Margot Robbie has landed a Best Actress nomination for her stirring portrayal as Queen Elizabeth the First in Queen Mary of Scots.

Meanwhile, the breakout film of the season A Star is Born has raked in the most nods with an impressive four nominations, including Best Actress for Lady Gaga, Best Actor for Bradley Cooper and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Elliott.

On the small screen, Ozark, This is Us, Better Call Saul, The Americas and The Handmaid’s Tale will go head-to-head in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category.

Names like Amy Adams, Margot Robbie and Lady Gaga are currently stepping out onto the silver carpet.
