Aussie hits and misses at the Met Gala through the years: From Margot Robbie's debut to Nicole Kidman's crowning moment

HIT: Miranda Kerr, 2022.

We're not sure how this gown fits the "Gilded Glamour" theme, but Miranda looks so divine we have to admit it's a hit anyway.

MISS: Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, 2022.

Sorry to one of Australia's golden couples, but we would have loved to have seen something more exciting from them!

It's a bit weird and we're not sure how this look fits with the theme of "In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion".

HIT: Catherine Martin and Baz Luhrmann, 2019.

These outfits were so on-theme they hurt, so we have to admit they're hits.

HIT: Liam Hemsworth, 2019.

Aussie Liam looks great in all-black and then-wife Miley Cyrus was on-theme so it's a win for the couple, who split later that year.

HIT: Elizabeth Debicki in Salvatore Ferragamo, 2019.

The theme was "Celebrating Camp: Notes on Fashion" and Elizabeth was a hit in this pink number.

HIT: Troye Sivan in Valentino, 2018.

Not only does the singer (left) look great, he spent the night hanging out with fashionable stars like Ariana Grande, Hailey Baldwin, and Shawn Mendes, so he's clearly a hit.

HIT: Naomi Watts in Michael Kors, 2018.

She looks like something straight out of a church (but make it fashionable). Hit!

MISS: Ruby Rose in Tommy Hilfiger, 2018.

It's on-theme, but sadly this outfit reads more 'Halloween costume' than 'Met Gala look' - miss.

HIT: Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin, 2018.

They basically look like Hugh and Deborra if they amped their looks up a notch, so it's a hit.

The outfits are a bit simple, but at least they're kind of sticking to the theme of "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination". It's a win for the Aussie golden couple!

The texture makes this dress a hit, as does Ruby's tall stature and blunt haircut.

The black column dress alone may have been a miss, but the glittering mesh through the neck makes this dress a huge hit.

The colour, the tulle, the plunging neckline - it all looks amazing and Rose's curly locks set it off perfectly in this hit outfit.

We love these two, but between Hugh's boring suit and Deborra's confronting shoes/socks/tights combo, we have to admit this one's a miss.

This dress for the "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between" theme was simple and elegant and Miranda wore it perfectly - hit.

Okay, hear us out. The dress may not be on theme but Elizabeth looks so good in it anyway, we had to make it a hit.

This one was a near miss, but it ties into the theme and Rose is always beuatiful, so we think it's a hit.

On theme? Check. Beautiful design? Check. Fits Nicole like a glove? Check! This one is a hit.

This is the stunning actress we know and love! What a hit for Margot.

MISS: Miranda Kerr in Louis Vuitton, 2016.

This outfit had a lot going on despite not really fitting the theme, and the ruffle on the hemline seems so out of place. Miss!

HIT: Naomi Watts in Burberry, 2016.

The theme was "Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" and we think Naomi nailed it. Hit!

Her gown fit the theme and this red hue looked incredible on Rose's complextion, so this one is a hit.

It may be a little off the "China: Through The Looking Glass" theme, but Miranda's figure makes this look a huge hit.

MISS: Margot Robbie in Prada, 2014.

We're not sold on this outfit, even though Margot's the one wearing it. Sorry, it's a miss.

This gown looked simply divine on Kylie and we love her little clutch - it's a win.

The theme was "Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations" but Cate's McQueen gown was still a huge hit.

This white swan-style frock was a total hit for Miranda, who looked divine on then-husband Orlando Bloom's arm.

Isla had a hit for her one and only Met Gala appearance, back when the theme was "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty".

It's a gorgeous frock and the colour looks divine on Naomi, and though it doesn't have much to do with the "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity" theme, this dress was still a hit.

The theme was "The Model As Muse" but Miranda still missed in this number - though she had incredible looks to come.

This frock was a hit for Naomi and fit the "Superheroes: Fashion And Fantasy" theme perfectly.

MISS: Cate Blanchett in Balenciaga, 2007.

The theme was "Poiret: King Of Fashion" but this dress was sadly a miss for Cate.

MISS: Elle Macpherson in Calvin Klein, 2005.

This dress was branded a miss by the media, but Elle adored it. She once told People: "My favorite red carpet moment is the acid-green, strapless luminescent dress with flip flops that I wore to a Met Gala."

HIT: Sara O'Hare, 2004.

It's not really on theme, but this all-white outfit looks divine on the Aussie model so we're calling it a hit.

This is a big hit! Mere weeks after winning her Oscar, The Hours actress and her dress totally matched the "Goddess" theme.

MISS: Elle Macpherson, 2001.

This has to be a miss because it didn't stick to the theme, which was "Jacqueline Kennedy: The White House Years".
