After it was rumoured the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would not be attending the BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Arts awards) we were thrilled when the Palace confirmed they would be!

The awards show is taking place this Sunday, February 12 at Royal Albert Hall, conveniently just across the street from their home, Kensington Palace.

We can’t wait to see what Catherine will wear, and as a modern day fashion icon who’s no stranger to recycling her looks we expect nothing less than stunning. We hope the Duchess takes some inspiration from her previous red carpet fashion wins, as these eight dresses set the gold standard.

1

Kate looked radiant in a pale pink, sequin Jenny Packham dress at the ARK Gala dinner at Kensington Palace in 2011. She wore is again in 2016 and we think it’s about time it got another run!

2

During her 2016 tour of Canada Kate gave us all in lesson in how to dress when she attended an event in this bright scarlet dress by London designer Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. In fact, the royal loved this dress so much she also bought it in black!

3

This stunning lace Alice Temperley floor-length gown was worn by Kate on two occasions in 2012, showing how versatile the classic gown is, and just how much Kate loves to recycle fashion.

4

The Duchess channelled Princess Diana in this ivory, silk gown, complete with a pearl-and-diamond belt and fur jacket. This is one ethereal look we’d be happy to get another glimpse of.

5

A royal blue Roland Mouret dress was the perfect choice for the SportsAid 40th Anniversary dinner in London.

6

Catherine loved this stunning white, floor-length Roland Mouret gown so much so wore it on two occasions – in 2012 and again in 2013 – keeping her accessories simple so the gown could shine.

7

She opted for a white lace Self Portrait dress with a thigh-high slit, suede oxblood heels and a matching clutch at the premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob in London in 2016.

8

Attending a gala at the National Portrait Gallery in a navy blue, chiffon Jenny Packham gown, complete with black velvet belt, Kate could have been mistaken for an old-Hollywood screen siren.
