Here's a casual reminder that Princess Caroline, the daughter of Grace Kelly, was the ultimate 1970s siren
A style icon.
The year was 1970, and Princess Caroline was about to see out a decade of pure, undisputed style wins. And it all began with this rather appropriate boho headscarf.
(Getty)In 1973, Caroline attended the Volpi Ball in Venice alongside her mum Grace Kelly (pictured in the background). We're obsessed with her drawstring floaty gown.
(Getty)In 1974, the Princess attended the famed Red Cross Ball in Monaco, rocking an iconic 70s hairstyle to boot.
(Getty)Caroline was also getting experimental with makeup at the time - a splash of blue eye shadow never hurt anyone.
(Getty)Ever the seventies siren, Caroline's timeless style was the ultimate mood.
(Getty)In 1978, Caroline was pictured enjoying a day by the ocean. Her chic simmers and je ne sais quoi demeanour is, quite frankly, everything.
(Getty)Ever the style maven, the royal was pictured in France in 1978 wearing a classic baker boy cap and neck scarf. So Frenchy, so chic.
(Getty)And who could forget her 1978 wedding to Philippe Junot - this floral adorned veil was a moment in time, never to be forgotten.
(Getty)That same year, the newly married Princess was glowing whilst enjoying the Monacan summer.
(Getty)In 1979, Caroline glammed up with Philippe for a night out in Paris. Her up-do, accessorised with an early-80s-esque veiled cocktail hat, spelled out yet another glorious decade of fashion to come for the royal.
(Getty)And indeed as she kicked off the 1980s, Caroline embraced the buzz colour of the time with this one-shouldered delight.
(Getty)That same year, the Princess looked oh-so-chic as she was snapped in this bold blue blazer.
(Getty)In 1985, Caroline rocked another version of the one-shoulder silhouette - this Grecian knot was simple and elegant. Loving the return of the blue eye shadow, too!
(Getty)For the 1985 Red Cross Ball, Caroline wore a get-up worthy of any 80s-themed party nowadays. She was literally glittering!
(Getty)For Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik's wedding in 2004, the Princess opted for this heavenly gold metallic gown featuring a daring netted plunging neckline.
(Getty)And the very same year, she rocked some seriously bold (and gold) accessories for the Red Cross Ball.
(Getty)Proving she is most definitely not afraid to take a fashion risk, the Princess went all out on top for a special Gala Dinner at El Pardo Palace in 2004. This feathered tulle creation was nothing short of head turning.
(Getty)And she's never lost her sense of style. In 2017, the Princess was pictured next to fashion legend Karl Largerfeld wearing a chic printed frock that basically summed up Chanel.
(Getty)And in 2019, the Princess was pictured next to her stunning daughter Charlotte and daughter-in-law Tatiana Casiraghi in Paris. There's no denying it - Caroline is a timeless beauty.
