Kate Middleton just wore this season’s ‘It’ heels – here’s where to nab a bargain pair of your own

These comfy bad boys will be taking us right through to the Aussie summer.

Finding a high heeled shoe that looks glam, matches with everything and feels comfortable to boot is no easy task – but lucky for us, Kate Middleton has just saved us the scramble.

Ever the fashion-forward trailblazer, the Duchess of Cambridge has stepped out in the season’s statement heel – and it might just be our favourite trend yet.

Attending a photography workshop on June 25, the royal donned her summer best in a beautiful floaty dress designed by Ridley London.

Featuring floaty sleeves and a flowing midi hemline, the Duchess was the image of casual glamour on the sunny day in London.

But as though her dreamy dress wasn’t enough, there was something else about her outfit that had us drooling – her boho-chic espadrille wedge heels.

Espadrille dreams! Kate’s UK summer look was pure heaven.

Indeed Kate’s love for a statement shoe has long been known to serve her well on many an occasion.

In fact, it was only two weeks ago that the royal stepped out wearing those silver sparkly numbers that sent royal fans and fashion-fiends wild.

But her daytime footwear for the special event this month has upped her versatile wardrobe to the next level – because we can officially claim that espadrilles are the shoe of the season, and it’s for a very good reason.

So cute, so chic, so on trend.

We know what you’re about to say – it’s winter here, and that means boots, socks and even bed socks for those really nasty chilly mornings.

Yes, summery espadrilles certainly aren’t the first thing on our minds as we experience the cooling embrace of winter in Australia.

But (and this is a big but), let’s not forget that the European summer is happening right now on Kate’s watch, and we, the lucky residents of the land Down Under, don’t tend to experience the throes of winter for quite so long as the UK.

With this is mind, we’ll be back into non-insulating footwear before you can say “crack on the barbie” – and let us tell you, espadrilles will be the first thing on our shoe wish list.

Kate’s a known fan of the humble wedge heel – and she proves you can literally do anything in them!

Where to buy Kate Middleton’s espadrilles

So with that being said, the next question we’re asking ourselves is simple – where and when can we find our own version of Kate’s glorious on-trend footwear?

While the royal’s Castañer Carina designs might be considered a little on the pricier side, valuing at around AUD $170 online, there are plenty of affordable variations of the style that you can get your hands on before the Aussie summer has even begun.

What’s more, if you live in one of Australia’s warmer states, these puppies are totally suitable to wear right now – and they’re perfectly appropriate to wear both day and night, especially when you see the array of styles they come in.

So if you’re not already whipping out the wallet and hitting ‘add to cart’, then perhaps our top picks below might spur you along…
