Back in June, Kim Kardashian was slammed for naming her shapewear line Kimono. Yes, just like the traditional Japanese garment.

But now, after much brainstorming, the entrepreneur and mum-of-four has announced its new, re-branded name and it’s a lot less controversial.

Taking to her social media accounts, Kim shared a photo of herself and several models dressed in the shapewear designed to suit all sorts of bodies.

“My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me – I’m always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name,” she captioned her post.

“After much thought and consideration, I’m excited to announce the launch of @SKIMS Solutionwear™ coming September 10. I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies.”

And it seems that the SKIMS name has been well-received by her fans with many flooding the comments section with messages of congratulations.

“Muuuuuuuch better phew,” one remarked.

“The rename of this is epic. We stan a flexible CEO,” congratulated another.

Another applauded Kim by saying, “Representation is everything! Congrats on this Kim and bigger congrats on acknowledging when a name wasn’t politically correct for your brand!”

Kim’s original brand name was Kimono and was slammed for cultural appropriation.

The mum-of-four also admitted in a second Instagram post that she’d had a longterm love of shapewear.

“I’ve always been obsessed with shapewear. It was like when everyone was getting bras and underwear, I was always getting shapewear,” she confessed in her video.

“There were times when I’d triple shapewear it up and people would write me all the time and be like ‘Oh my god you look so good after the baby’ and I’m like ‘That is three pairs of shapewear, that’s like not me.'”

She added, “I feel like shapewear has been at least a decade or more in the making for me just from how I would cut everything up and sew it myself and just really reconstruct it all.”

Kim’s hourglass figure regularly makes headlines and at the 2019 Met Gala, her Thierry Mugler ensemble certainly accentuated her curves.

While some fans suspected she’d had a rib removed to create her look, Kim later revealed that she wore a tight, custom-made corset underneath by famous corset designer Mr Pearl.

Her personal trainer Melissa Alcantara also confirmed the corset rumours but added that she has an intense exercise regime as well.

“To make things clear…1. This dress is corseted BUT 2. Kim trains her ass off 6 days a f—ing week, she wakes up early AF and is dedicated,” Melissa wrote on Instagram.

“I paved the road for her but SHE did the work! MOST IMPORTANTLY I don’t give a s— about your opinions on her body, if you think [it’s] fake or not! I see her every morning, I see her train and I see her sweat and I see all the work she does outside the gym and THAT is commendable!”
