Duchess Catherine’s first post-lockdown outfit is the ultimate work-and-leisure look

After months of trackies and hoodies, this is a happy medium for our return to the real world.

Let’s not lie, we’ve all become very well accustomed to wearing tracksuit pants, oversized tees, hoodies galore, and, on some occasions, straight up pyjamas as our go-to outfit of the day.

But there’s only so far we can go when it comes to wearing our at-home gear in public – so, albeit begrudgingly, it might be time for us to start thinking about what our post-lockdown wardrobes will look like.

Luckily, our forever fashion inspiration Duchess Catherine is here to give us a leg-up.

On Friday, new photos of the Duchess surfaced as she visited a local garden centre in Norfolk.

The event itself was relatively low key – the Duchess, 38, was calm and at ease as she wandered around Fakenham Garden Centre.

Engaging with fellow shoppers whilst dong her rounds, the royal could have passed off as any given person simply there to do their weekly shop – especially when you consider her outfit.

Wearing a simple blue Jaeger shirt with a padded vest by Fjällräven along with a pair of jeans designed by Massimo Dutti, Kate was the image of casual chic.

She added a trusty pair of Superga trainers – a common favourite of the Duchess’ – this time in a khaki colour.

Kate wore her hair in a half-up half-down style, adding beautiful drop earrings and minimal makeup to finish the look.

A perfect, low-key return to work – we’ll confirm!

Kate visited the flower and plant centre to shine a light on some of the local businesses who have taken a huge hit in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the visit, she pottered around the plants and spoke to some unsuspecting shoppers there.

To one woman, Wendy McNeil, Kate told her that she was surprised by how many people had the same idea as her.

Speaking to HELLO!, Wendy said: “I was looking at herbs and there was another older couple and I just said to her ‘oh everyone’s doing herbs today’ and I didn’t realise it was Kate,” she said.

She said of the encounter: “It was lovely talking to Kate and she knew her stuff on gardening!”

The Duchess surprised shoppers by joining them in picking up her own supplies from the store.

Of course, bumping into Kate willy nilly on your weekly shop is an occasion never to be forgotten, but her peak casual outfit will also remain blissfully ingrained in our memories for a while to come.

In fact, we loved her look so much we decided to find out exactly how to recreate it ourselves.
