The Australian fashion world is definitely sitting in good hands.

And the proof was in the pudding at last night’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week closing show, Carla Zampatti, which was star-studded with some of Australia’s most fashionable elite.

And turning heads across the room (not to mention on Instagram!) were two of the country’s most dazzling leading ladies, who debuted some stunning new clothing for the special occasion.

We are of course, referring to none other than Aussie politician Julie Bishop and media personality Kerri-Anne Kennerley, who both stunned onlookers in dazzling fashion-forward looks.

Bishop, who is known for her incredible fashion sense, wore a beautiful floor length silver dress accessories with a back tie at the waist along with bright diamond drop earrings.

With her blonde hair in a new signature chop, the stylish politician was looking well and truly en vogue.

Julie, who has announced she will be resigning from politics following the upcoming election, has worn a string of stunning clothes in and outside of the political landscape.

And at times, her fashion sense does a lot more than give us style-inspiration a-plenty.

Recently launching the annual White Shirt Campaign for Witchery in April as an official ambassador, Julie’s outfit made a statement like no other.

Wearing a simple white shirt and black pants, the politician told Now To Love: “This is a statement beyond fashion.”

“I applaud Witchery for donating the gross proceeds of the sale of these whites shirts to cancer research. And I’m pleased that they are showing the way for fashion industry entities to get involved in causes like cancer research.”

We applaud her for putting her knack for all things fashion to a good cause!

Meanwhile, Kerri-Anne Kennerley was also looking incredible at the Fashion Week closer on Thursday evening.

Wearing a sequined jacket along with a white sheer shirt with flared sleeves, the blonde television personality looked glamorous for the grand event as she laughed along with guests at the show.

Her prime seating position in the front row also gave Kerri the best exposure – for her to watch the show, and for us to oggle her outfit!

Kennerley’s appearance comes after a turbulent time for the television host, who recently lost her husband John in February.

Kerri-Anne took to her Instagram at the time to share an emotional tribute to her late husband, writing, “As you all know, John has faced some tremendous challenges over the past few years and with each he has been extraordinarily brave and determined to overcome those hurdles and live a normal life.”

At the heartbreaking funeral, Kerri wore a vibrant colourful frock because John “hated black”.

She later opened up about the loss on Studio Ten, telling hosts that his death came as a shock.

“I thought I would really have John for many, many, many years to come and a lot of things happened very quickly so it was a terrible shock,” she said.

Seeing Kerri-Anne now is sure to make John happy as she glowed at Fashion Week – we’re applauding her bravery!
