From the trendy to the timeless to the tacky, there are some wedding dresses it's impossible to forget.

When it comes to the most iconic bridal dresses of all time, whoever could forget the Duchess of Cambridge’s Alexander McQueen number? Or Audrey Hepburn’s ethereal gown? Or Kate Moss’s stunning John Galliano design?

Beatle John Lennon and his bride, Japanese-born Yoko Ono, hold the marriage certificate following their registry office wedding here on March 21st. Providing the background in the picture is the famous Rock of Gibraltar. This was Lennon’s second marriage and 34-year-old Yoko’s third.
