Fashion from Melbourne Cup and Derby Day

Victoria’s most illustrious event, The Spring Racing Carnival has kicked off with a remarkable splash.

Australia’s finest channeled the sunny spring weather with many incorporating flowers as they showed off their frocks and fascinators at Flemington Racecourse for the Melbourne Cup.

Meanwhile the torrential rain on Derby Day did little to damped the mood, with your favourite continuing to pull out that stop on the fashion front.

While Derby Day’s is all about monochromatic chic, Melbourne Cup oozed pretty colours and prints.

We’ve seen some big names sweep through Melbourne’s Spring Racing season with the likes of Fashion Police commentators Brad Goreski and Melissa Rivers. Other racegoers who have braved the weather include Australian model Jennifer Hawkins, Danielle Spencer, Sam Armytage and Kerri-Anne Kennerley.

Unfortunately there has been one attendee that suffered a rather bulging wardrobe malfunction, The Bachelor’s Sam Wood.

The fitness guru’s fly on his pants seem to have broken off, leaving little to the imagination (it looks like Snezana’s is receiving a lot more than a rose from her man!) Thankfully in a room filled with Australia’s finest fashionistas, Sam managed to track down a heroic safety pin.
