The not-so-secret way to get more value at Petbarn
Petbarn’s loyalty program, Friends for Life, is free and easy to join – just create an account on the site. Once you do that, you get access to member pricing for a huge range of products, special offers and the Puppy & Kitten Club (if you have a new puppy or kitten). You also earn points for your spending at Petbarn and participating Greencross Vets, and can redeem 6000 points for a $10 discount (known as ‘loyalty credit’).
The amount of points you earn depends on your membership level, which is based on your yearly spend. Here’s a breakdown:
- Silver ($0 to $550 yearly spend): 10 points per $1
- Gold ($550 to $1100 yearly spend): 12 points per $1
- Platinum (over $1100 yearly spend): 14 points per $1
To put this another way, if you’re a new member, you’ll get your first $10 loyalty credit after you spend $600. And if you spend that much in a 12-month period, you’ll reach Gold membership and earn the higher rate of 12 points per $1. At that level, you’d only need to spend $500 to get another $10 loyalty credit. And if you reach Platinum, you’ll earn the 6000 points needed for a $10 loyalty credit by spending $429.
While it’s not the most generous points program I’ve seen (supermarkets offer $10 off for every 2000 points, as a comparison), it still means you’re getting something for money you’d already be spending on your pets. And honestly, some of the member pricing I’ve seen is enough to make me want to sign up for this program. As an example, there was up to 50% off select items for members when I was writing this article.

- Set up Repeat Delivery: Petbarn offers Repeat Delivery for a huge range of pet food, treats, tick, worming and flea products and more. As well as saving time regularly placing the order, Repeat Delivery offers savings for select products, and guarantees you’ll get the lowest price available at Petbarn. So if it goes on sale when a delivery is scheduled, you get the sale price. And you can cancel at any time.
- Check out the specials: Petbarn has a ‘Hot Prices’ section where you can find the latest savings and offers. For example, I found 51% off Simparica Trio Dog Flea Tick & Worm chews, and 50% off a wild bird feeder that would be perfect in my backyard.
- Shop the sales: Petbarn has sales during the year, but also offers big deals during major sale events like Black Friday, Boxing Day and Afterpay Day. For example, up to 60% off select products during the Black Friday sales in 2025, and up to 40% off select products for Afterpay Day in 2026.

But if you have a new puppy or kitten, you can get hundreds of dollars worth of discounts and vouchers by joining the Puppy and Kitten Club. Just sign up as a member and set up your profile to register, then go to your nearest Petbarn for the Welcome Bag of goodies.
Members of Petbarn’s Friends for Life loyalty program get a $10 loyalty voucher added to their account when they have earned 6000 points. You can earn between 10 and 14 points per $1 at Petbarn and Greencross Vets, based on your membership level. Then, once the voucher is issued, you can choose when you use it at Petbarn or Greencross Vets.
Petbarn may run promotions with a coupon code for free delivery, but otherwise you get free standard delivery on metro orders over $49.
In select metro areas, Petbarn also offers free next-day delivery for orders over $99. And for orders over $149, you can get free same-day delivery or choose a date and time.
Repeat Delivery fees actually depend on the order. So it’s free for metro orders over $49 if they don’t contain fresh or frozen food. If the order has fresh or frozen food, a $9.95 delivery fee applies anywhere in Australia.
