How to redeem your David Jones promo code
David Jones makes it easy to redeem a promo code when you’re shopping online as a member or a guest. Here’s how to do it in three steps:

David Jones doesn’t currently have a promo code or welcome discount.
Previously, David Jones offered a $10 welcome reward for new customers who joined the free loyalty program, but that promotion has ended. I’m basically on the David Jones site every week and I’m a member of the rewards program, so if a new welcome offer becomes available you’ll find details here. But for now, you can still save on your first order with an of the offers listed and tested by Woman’s Day.
How can I get $10 off at David Jones?
David Jones Rewards offers a $10 birthday discount for Bronze/entry level members, which you can get by creating a free account, adding your date of birth and spending at least $30 at David Jones in the 12 months before your birthday. You also get a bigger $20 birthday reward if you’re a Silver member, and a $30 birthday reward if you’re a Gold member, with membership levels based on your spending.
If you choose to earn David Jones Reward points, you also get a $10 discount voucher for every 1500 points. With a standard earn rate of 3 points per $1 spent, this means you’d get a $10 reward after spending $500 at David Jones.

An order that doesn’t meet the code requirements, mis-typed code, discounts that require you to login and expired promotions are some of the common reasons a code doesn’t work. But if you need to troubleshoot a code, these quick checks and help fix it.
- Is the code exactly as it’s printed? Make sure capital and lowercase letters are the same, as well as any numbers or characters. Copying the code and pasting it into the promo code field again is often a quick way to fix issues. I also check for extra spaces or characters after entering the code, just in case that’s causing the issue.
- Does your order meet the requirements? A minimum order value or discount for a specific product category or brand are two of the most common requirements. Your David Jones promo code may also have exclusions for specific brands or categories. Check the terms and conditions and update your cart if necessary before adding the code again.

Currently, David Jones doesn’t offer a discount just for students. So the easiest ways to save are through broader promo codes and offers not limited to students, including David Jones Rewards.
Can I add more than one promo code to my David Jones order?
Unfortunately, no. David Jones only allows one promo code per order. There’s even a reminder after the promo code field about it, which is included in my screenshot of the checkout/bag summary. If you try to add more than one code, it won’t work. But if you have multiple codes, you could use them across different orders to make the most of these discounts.

How exactly do you get your David Jones birthday discount?
To get the David Jones birthday reward, you need to first add your birthday to your account. To do this, click on your profile, then go to ‘Account Settings’ and then ‘Your Details’. Scroll to where it says ‘Birthday’ and enter the day, month and year. Click ‘Update’ and your birthday will be stored.
You also need to spend at least $30 with David Jones in the 12 months before your birthday.
After that, David Jones will issue your $10, $20 or $30 birthday reward around your birthday and you’ll find it your account. You then have $30 days to use it.

For example, I saw discounts of up to 70% off women’s fashion and up to 40% off suitcases from Samsonite, American Tourister and Delsey when I was writing this article. David Jones also offers big savings during major sale events including Black Friday and Boxing Day, when I’ve previously seen discounts up to around 50-60%.
- Free shipping offer: David Jones offers free standard shipping on orders over $100, saving you $9.95 compared to the standard fee.
- Price Match Promise: If you see the same item with a lower price at another Australian retailer, contact David Jones using the online chat to request a price match.
- Gift registry: David Jones offers a free gift registry for those milestone events in your life, which helps keep track of gifts from friends and family. If any of your gifts aren’t purchased, David Jones also offers you a 20% discount on them after the event.
- David Jones credit cards: David Jones credit card customers get free express shipping, reward points and other perks like complimentary gift wrapping. But keep in mind would need to meet the eligibility requirements, including a credit check, and also check the annual fee and interest rates and fees to decide if a credit card is worth it.
The David Jones discounts that have made it one of my favourite places to shop and save
While I remained more loyal to Myer than David Jones for years, that recently changed. I bought a fancy new Blunt umbrella with an exclusive design from David Jones. That was the start, but December was when everything changed. I saw some incredible discounts when I was shopping for gifts – and ended up saving a massive $100.39 on my order. I strategically made sure it was still over $100 (by about 90 cents!).
About a week later, David Jones emailed me a reward offer with a $15 discount. So I ordered another gift for a hard-to-buy family member, along with some festive decorations – all of which were already discounted. So as well as saving $15 with the reward offer, I saved $15.73 through sale promotions. Plus I chose click and collect to avoid delivery fees (the order totalled $69.12 after discounts).
So I saved $131.12 on my items. Including free delivery savings of $19.90 (compared to standard delivery fees), that means I saved around $151.02 on my Christmas shopping at David Jones.
Since then, I’ve found myself checking the website more, adding to my wishlist and finding some great discounts in the process.

For orders over $100, David Jones offers free standard delivery and a reduced express delivery fee of $9.95. For orders under $100, the standard delivery fee is $9.95 and the express delivery fee is $12.95.
If you’re in a covered metro area, you can also get same-day metro delivery for $14.95.
Standard and express delivery are also free for David Jones credit cardholders, with Prestige cardholders also getting complimentary metro same-day delivery.
Editor’s note: Bulky items have different delivery fees that are listed on the product pages and at the checkout. As an example, a Sealy Posturepedic Queen Mattress I was looking at had a delivery fee of $165 for addresses in central Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Yes! David Jones offers click and collect for free on your online orders. I often choose click and collect to save on delivery fees when my cart is under $100.
What is David Jones’ return policy?
David Jones has a 30-day change-of-mind policy, so you can return most items for a refund in this timeframe. Your items need to be in their original condition, with proof of purchase. The return process is simple and managed online, with a choice of return by post or in-store.
