Sure, Christmas is hot for us, but these pieces are worth sweating through.

In Australia, because we celebrate Christmas in summer, we have some different traditions from the rest of the world.
For instance, a BBQ, prawns, bathers, and Christmas themed flip flops are all staples we look forward to every year.
Even though every Australian has fantasised about a white Christmas, many of us can agree that going to the beach is superior to sitting around a fireplace.
However, our cultural differences don't mean we can't dip our toes into fun traditions on the other side of the pond.
There is something about the everlasting joy that comes from ugly Christmas jumpers.
They're literal eyesores, but we can't help but feel a little bit of envy when our favourite festive movies don their cast in the aesthetic pieces.
Perhaps we love them so much because of the irony and the excuse to just look like tacky tinsel trash.
It's an excuse to ditch the refined, well-curated, and safe clothes we wear from day to day to express ourselves with loud and unbridled fun.
After all, what else is more festive than drinking some eggnog (another American export we like to indulge in) while listening to carols and wearing a jumper that is only acceptable for at least two weeks of the year.
We believe that the more hideous, the better, so we have searched our favourite Aussie retailers for their most eye-burning and taste insulting designs to liven up your Christmas parties.

But because we understand that not everyone wants to smell stronger to the pine on their tree or take kindly to putting up with damp sleeves all day, we have also looked out for some themed T-shirts.
While your friends and family members wear their Camilla & Marc, Bec and Bridge, and Zimmerman outfits this silly season, know that your amusing jumpers and T-shirts will make for better conversation starters.
So, for an extra sprinkle of joy this Christmas, here are the ugliest Christmas novelty items you will regret not buying.
