Controversial reality TV series Yummy Mummies has certainly got people talking.

The show follows the lives of four glamorous socialites and mums-to-be Lorinska Merrington, Jane Scandizzo, Maria Di Geronimo and Rachel Watts.

While they may not all be sure of what to expect while they’re expecting, it hasn’t stopped them from sharing their thoughts on motherhood.

Lorinska Merrington: If any of the Yummy Mummies were made for TV, it’s Lorinska Merrington. In fact, the 31-year-old admits she jumped at the chance to be on the reality show. “I couldn’t resist when I heard high heels and pram wheels,” Lorinska says, adding she plans on ruffling a few feathers with her opinions and views on motherhood. “Even though I was pregnant [during filming], I didn’t want that to stop me from wearing the latest fashions.”

Lorinska Merrington: “I never let being pregnant stop me from keeping up appearances – I was still out and about loving life, so with all that in play I knew I was the perfect match for the show. I’ve modelled since the ripe age of 14 years old so this is second nature to me.” So just how many kids would Lorinska and her hubby, former Carlton Footballer Andrew Merrington, like to have? “I’m born to breed,” Lorinska says. “Four babies for me, please.”

Yummy Mummies’ star’s sweet confession

Jane Scandizzo: Despite how she might come across on screen, Jane Scandizzo insists she a good mum. “I am a good mum and a good person,” Jane tells TV WEEK. “That’s all that matters to me.”

Jane Scandizzo: Jane signed up for Yummy Mummies because she thought it would be fun. And her husband, celebrity hairstylist Joey Scandizzo, has been her biggest supporter. “Joey was all for it right from the beginning,” Jane explains, adding she’s not worried about social media trolls or what people will think of her. “Hatred doesn’t benefit my life in any way,” she says. “I’m too busy with my children and would rather spend quality time with them.”

Jane Scandizzo: On being pregnant, Jane says she’s loved every moment of it. “I’ve been craving lots of sweets, pasta and pizza,” she laughs. But the model admits she does miss her sleep. “I’m missing quality sleep and my style hasn’t really changed that much, but my clothes are all elastic now,” she laughs.

Yummy Mummies sneak peek

Maria Di Geronimo: Maria Di Geronimo admits she doesn’t get along with and of her fellow mums-to-be. “I clash with all three,” she reveals, adding things did get heated onset at times. “We’re all strong women with opinions and our common ground is that we are all about to become mums.”

Maria Di Geronimo: Long filming hours also took its toll on Maria. “I enjoyed the whole experience, however it was a time in which I was hormonal, overtired and trying to focus and stick to a schedule proved challenging,” she admits.

Maria Di Geronimo: But Maria’s warning viewers not to judge a book by its cover. “Yummy Mummies doesn’t show every single aspect of my life,” she says. “Viewers will only see snippets of situations and judge me on that but I’m aware and ready for that.” Nevertheless, Maria is sure to provide plenty of entertainment and style to the show. “I feel extremely beautiful in my pregnancy,” Maria says. “I’ve managed to adapt my outfits to accommodate my cute bump!”

Rachel Watts: Filming a reality TV show wasn’t the only thing Rachel found tough about her experience on Yummy Mummies. She also lacked a lot of confidence. “At times the process was quite tough especially leading up to my labour,” Rachel says. “And standing next to two gorgeous professional models [Jane and Lorinska] made me question whether I was cut out for this. I really needed to tap into my inner goddess and keep my confidence levels high.”

Rachel Watts: While Rachel has found pregnancy mostly a breeze, she admits it’s had its challenges. “I’ve hated having fluid in my hands, feet and face, not being able to do my own shoe laves up and working 14 hours days and coming home and throwing up,” she admits.

Rachel Watts: And of her relationship with Maria, Rachel doesn’t hold back. “She and I have different opinions and values on a range of subjects – I guess you could say we clashed,” she says. “I also felt her personality would change from when the cameras were on to off and I was not fond of that. Just be yourself!”
