Have Blake Lively and Leighton Meester signed on for a Gossip Girl movie?

This just in: S and B might be making a comeback!

Spotted: Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford back in New York filming a Gossip Girl movie on the steps of the Met.

What?!

Well not really – but our fantasy could very well become a reality in a matter of months given the buzz that a big-screen version of the hit series is reportedly in the works. Best. News. Ever!

Everyone’s favourite Upper East Siders have been off the air for five years but a source tells US OK! magazine that after the “great success” Warner Brothers – who produced the series – had with the Sex and the City films, they’re eager to capitalise on a GG flick in the same way.

Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford as Upper East Side hotties, Nate and Chuck.

The source goes on to say that Leighton is already on board to reprise her role as Queen B, Blair Waldorf, and that Sebastian Stan (Carter Baizen), Chace (Nate Archibald) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams) are all hoping that it’ll happen too.

And while there’s no word yet if Ed “I’m Chuck Bass” Westwick or Lonely Boy Penn Badgley – aka Dan Humphrey – are on board, the source says that Blake Lively is keen to play Serena van der Woodsen one last time.

We’d love to see Dan and Serena reunite.

“A couple of years ago she would never have agreed, but now that she has established an identity apart from the show, she seems more open to it,” the insider reveals.

Indeed, just last month Blake revealed that a Gossip Girl revival wasn’t completely off the cards for her.

“I don’t know. Why not?” she told Variety

“Would I do seven years of the show? No, because it’s hard work and I’ve got my babies, and I don’t want to be away from them that much. But I’ve just learned in life you never say never… We had so much fun shooting and living and working in New York City.”

Taylor Momsen is apparently not keen for the film

But if the movie does go ahead, don’t expect to see NYC’s most rebellious teenager Jenny Humphrey, as Taylor Momsen is like, so done with acting.

“It’s so a part of my past at this point,” the singer explained in March.

Your loss, Little J. xoxo
