Last year, Pete and Courtney walked away from the seventh season of House Rules victorious, with $250,000 in their pocket and a newly renovated home.

This year, the renovation show returns with a whole new format and a new name to match, House Rules: High Stakes.

Jamie Durie takes over as host from Johanna Griggs, as contestants renovate a Gold Coast penthouse before moving on to their own homes.

While we eagerly watch this season’s contenders, you may wonder what the previous contestants on House Rules are up to now?

How are the winners enjoying their new lives? Find out below!

Pete & Courtney

Pete and Courtney

After taking out the top prize in 2019, Pete and Courtney told TV WEEK they were keen to spend some quality time with their son, Casper.

“For now, we just want to be home and enjoy him and soak up all of him.”

The couple also said they’d be looking to expand their family in the future, but we’re yet to see any baby news.

Toad and Mandy

The NSW country couple took out the top prize in 2018, and gained a legion of fans with their hilarious dyanmic. The dairy farmer and beautician are currently planning their wedding, and raising their cheeky twins Lenny and Layla in their newly renovated home.

Carly and Leighton

Carly and Leighton

Carly and Leighton won House Rules in 2013. They later sold their renovated Adelaide home and bought a property in Sydney, which also needed a lot of renovation work (these guys are gluttons for punishment!). The couple had their second stint on reality TV in 2015 on Nine Network’s Reno Rumble, where they came second to Ayden and Jess Hogan. Carly and Leighton are currently working as styling partners for Lorraine Lea. The lovely couple have also welcomed baby boy Bruce Montogmery Brow.

Adam and Lisa

Adam and Lisa

Adam and Lisa were crowned the House Rules champions in 2014. They got married in 2015 and welcomed their beautiful baby girl Arabella in 2016. Adam landed a coveted role on Better Homes And Gardens, winning the TV WEEK Silver Logie for Best New Talent in 2016. The couple have recently had their second child, a girl named Ruby Marie.

Steve and Tiana

Steve and Tiana

Steve and Tiana were the first father-daughter team to compete on House Rules and they ended up winning the series in 2015. In October 2016 Tiana and her husband Dean had a beautiful baby girl called Evie, and later welcomed baby Isla Blair in April 2019. Since being on the show, Tiana has been busy with her own home renovations and styling projects.

Luke and Cody

Luke and Cody

The nation fell in love with the twins from Dalby, Queensland. The boys from the bush won the title over Claire and Hagan in last year’s emotional finale. The boys have continued to work with Channel Seven, even landing what looks like a pretty sweet gig presenting travel stories on Queensland Weekender.

Claire and Hagan

Claire and Hagan

Claire and Hagan may have been runners-up to Luke and Cody, however there is clearly no bad blood between them. Luke and Cody attended Claire and Hagan’s wedding in 2017. They weren’t the only House Rules alumni spotted at the nuptials, with host Johanna Griggs and contestants Brooke and Michelle, Luke and Cody, Fil and Joe, and Nancy and Daniel also in attendance. The couple have since opened a salon (@delunesalon), with a small shop (@white.nest), and a vegan cafe (@cocobango.2829) all in the same space.

Carole and Russell

Carole and Russell

Carole and Russell were pipped at the post by Adam and Lisa in 2014. The pair later sold their renovated home in the Perth Hills. The couple were surrounded by controversy when it was revealed they owned a luxury home in Mandurah, which they have also since sold. Recently, Carole and Russell have undergone some dramatic transformations on a more personal scale. In an interview with Woman’s Day in 2017, Carole admitted to having a $7300 non-surgical facelift, while Russell has been enjoying the results of botox.

Michelle and Steve

Michelle and Steve

For season one finalists Michelle and Steve, one reality renovation show wasn’t enough. The couple also appeared on Reno Rumble in 2015. The pair didn’t receive the warmest reception on Reno Rumble and things didn’t go smoothly with their fellow House Rules contestants, Nick and Chris, Ben and Jemma, and Carly and Leighton.

Grant and Brooke

Grant and Brooke

Grant and Brooke were hoping that going on House Rules would make life easier. However, the pair – who have seven children together – were the first to be eliminated in season two. After the show aired, Brooke left Grant to begin a relationship with personal trainer Rebekah Jones.

Rob and Rose

Rob and Rose

After moving 11 times in eight years, Rob and Rose were hoping that their newly renovated West Australian home would be theirs for good. However, shortly after the show aired, the couple made the choice to move their family to Brisbane to help take care of Rose’s grandmother.

Jemma and Ben

Jemma and Ben

Jemma and Ben have endured a very difficult time, suffering a miscarriage shortly after their appearance on House Rules. However, the couple welcomed a baby boy called Thomas in 2015. After appearing on Reno Rumble, the pair announced they were pregnant with their second child and had another little boy called Christian in August 2016.
