If you were obsessed with music in the late 90s and 00s, there’s a high chance you frothed over the US MTV series Total Request Live (TRL), hosted by Carson Daly.
Over two decades later, Australia will be treated to it’s very own TRL showcasing the incredible variety and talent of our music industry.
MTV Australia will be kicking off the first episode of TRL this Friday, March 8 at 6pm, on MTV on Foxtel and simulcast on Facebook Live across MTV Australia and Foxtel’s official Facebook pages.
The show will be hosted by Ash London and Angus O’Loughlin, DJ Flex Mami and Lisa Hamilton. TRL will feature live performances, exclusive interviews and videos.

The first show will include live performances from Australian artists Ocean Alley and Kwame. Not to mention exclusive interviews with artists including Yungblud, Courtney Barnett, Denzel Curry, G Flip, Middle Kids, Skeggs and Cosmos Midnight.
There will be the TRL Top Ten videos of the week, the latest Aussie Hip Hop news from urban music specialists Call & Response and DJ Flex Mami goes in search of the biggest Ocean Alley fan.
To sum up: A mix of great Aussie music and some exclusive chats will make for one exciting evening of TV!

TRL premieres Friday, March 8 at 6:00pm AEDT on MTV and MTV Music on Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Fetch. An encore screening of episode one will air Sunday March 10 at 4.30pm AEDT on FOX8. It simulcast on Facebook Live across MTV Australia and Foxtel’s official Facebook pages on Friday, March 8 at 6:00pm.
