They say it every year but this season of The Block really will be bigger and better than ever before.

The Block's new contestants will be renovating the infamous Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne. "It's also in a part of St Kilda that has seen the glory days of Melbourne gone by and I think that it's a part of Melbourne that will be rebirthed.

And while the contestants last year were some of our favourites ever (like Josh and Elyse, Sticks and Wombat), Shaynna is confident they can be topped.

"I keep thinking, 'oh they can't do better than that' and then all of a sudden I walk in and go 'they did it'."
