The big TV talking points of the week

These topics had tongues wagging in the TV WEEK office...
The Voice

1. The Voice: Is the voting fair?

Fans are questioning whether the new voting system is fair after they were allowed to vote for their favourite performer only during the live show last week. But it seems that was just a one-off, with voting reopening shortly after the show finished, giving fans the opportunity to continue to cast their votes all week for the following live show. Are we the
only ones confused?

2. Hamish and Andy: The terrific twosome run true to form

Aussies love a good yarn, and with the latest TV venture from Hamish Blake and Andy Lee,
we get just that. In True Story With Hamish & Andy, their witty interviews with everyday folk – combined with their tales of misadventure – makes for top telly. Our only request? For show promos to reveal fewer funny moments so we don’t know the story before it airs.

3. Love Child: Ronan Keating returns to OZ… again

Set up the guest room, because Ronan Keating is back in town! Over the years, the Irish singer has graced our screens as a judge on The X Factor and a coach on The Voice. Now, he’s starring as
Dr Lawrence Faber alongside Jessica Marais in Love Child. We’re starting to think of him as the long-lost cousin who came to visit and never left. He can overstay his welcome at our place anytime.

4. Wentworth: Our hearts can’t take another dramatic finale

We’re pretty sure viewers are still getting over the brutal death of Bea Smith (Daniel Cormack) at the hands of Joan (Pamela Rabe) in the season four finale of prison drama Wentworth. As we head into the final weeks with the women in teal, we’re getting high blood pressure just thinking about what twists we’re in for now. Don’t have any hot beverages nearby when you watch it
– you’ll be jumping
out of your seat.

5. Janet King: Hot Toddy is back

It’s been seven years since Todd Lasance steamed up the small screen as bad boy-made-good Aden Jefferies in Home And Away. In the meantime, he’s been chasing his acting dreams in Los Angeles. But this week, he’s reprising his Crownies role as lawyer Ben McMahon in drama Janet King. We swear to tell nothing but the truth – he’s still hot.
