“They’ve grown in different directions…” Are TODAY’s weatherman Stevie Jacobs and his wife to separate?

On Saturday’s edition of the TODAY show, longtime weatherman Stevie Jacobs made a special appearance, reading the weather from his new home in Vanuatu.

By all accounts, the 51-year-old was elated: his tan, glowing, his face, beaming, as he introduced viewers at home to some of the activities he and his family get up to on the South Pacific Island.

However, according to new claims, all is not as great as they may seem with The Sunday Telegraph‘s Confidential reporting that Stevie and his wife of more than a decade, Rose, are calling time on their marriage.

“They’ve grown in different directions and want different things in life now,” a source revealed to Confidential.

The source then went on to say that Stevie and Rose don’t regret their decision to move to Vanuatu, suggesting that it was a last-ditch attempt at working on making their relationship stronger. However, now the pair are separated, but still living together while their young girls, Isabella and Francesca, are at school.

Stevie and Rose’s commitment to their little ones was none more evident than when he “hung up” his boots from the TODAY show back in December 2016. Flanked by his daughters and Rose, Stevie revealed on air that he would be giving up his weatherman job to spend more time with his family.

“Monday to Friday, for the past 12 years, I haven’t been able to wake up once with my wife, haven’t been able to get the kids to daycare,” Steve said.

Stevie and Rose are yet to comment on their alleged split.

Stevie isn’t the only TODAY show team member to potentially live his alleged separation in the public eye. A little more than 18 months ago, Karl Stefanovic and his now ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn ended their 21-year relationship.

But as the dust settles on that separation, and speculation of a pregnancy with his new partner, Jasmine Yarbrough, begins to bubble, it appears that there’s another reason Karl can’t seem to shift out of the spotlight…

According to tabloid king Peter Ford, there is a secret phone recording of Peter Stefanovic calling Karl Stefanovic, putting him on speakerphone and the pair having a rather telling conversation about his new TODAY anchor Georgie Gardner.

Or in layman’s terms, the brothers are supposedly having a full-blown vent session about the breakfast host.

And while the cab driver has since revealed that his alleged recording of the conversation between the two brothers is more of a, err, recollection of events played out in his own mind, this saga still brings unwanted negative attention to the breaky show’s panel.

Just another day in showbiz. Sigh.
