He’s certainly no stranger to the cameras and the workings of reality television but we never thought we’d see The Bachelor’s Sam Wood tackling another show, especially The Block.

Unfortunately for us, we actually won’t be seeing him wielding a hammer or painting walls at 3 am. After auditioning for the new season, he was knocked out in the first round. Ouch.

The 37-year-old was reportedly seen filming an audition tape for The Block last month with friend Paul Lange in Melbourne.

Sam told Daily Mail Australia that despite trying out, he and his friend wouldn’t be making it onto our televisions.

“No, we are definitely not going to be on The Block.”

The reality star said the reno show was after “more couples rather than two bozos”.

We’re pretty surprised at this; all-male teams are usually some of our faves. Just look at Sticks and Wombat!

Our favourite Block ‘bozos’.

Sam’s not too disappointed at missing out however, saying he was just along for the ride.

“My friend Paul was desperate to be on it so I said, ‘Mate, if you wanna have a go at it I’m happy to go along with you.'”

“It’s not really my thing. I do admire [the contestants] but it would be damn hard work and I’ve got a lot on my plate.”

We all know he has his hands full with beautiful baby daughter, Willow, who is only three-months old.

For now, Sam will have to keep his love for the show to viewing only. And the odd purchase. He and fiancé Snezana Markoski currently live in the Melbourne, Elsternwick, home renovated by 2016 Block couple Sasha and Julia.
