She’s gone from reality TV favourite to soap star and now it looks like Home And Away star Sam Frost could be about to secure her first hosting gig!

“Seven want to start promoting new and upcoming talent, and they’re considering Sam for a number of roles in 2020 – she represents the very demographic they are focused on securing,” says our source.

“The whisper is Sam might get the Farmer Wants A Wife gig – she found fame on a dating show so she’d be perfect for it. The bosses were keen for Edwina [Bartholmew] to host it, but she’s about to go on maternity leave.

“They’re also considering an up-late version of Big Brother with Mike Goldman and that could be the perfect place to road-test Sam. She has over 500,000 Instagram followers and that’s the future of TV now… social media is at the core of every decision.”

Sophie and Sonia battle it out

Another former Bachelorette Sophie Monk promised Love Island fans “a little more of me” with the return of the show’s second season.

But Woman’s Day hears we might be seeing a whole lot more of Sophie, with rumours she could be about to land a job on The Voice – and host Sonia Kruger’s not happy!

“Sophie wants nothing more than to step up into a bigger role [at Nine]. The Voice has her name all over it,” a source tells.

The insider says the former pop star could co-host the show – but there’s a major problem.

“Sonia would see that as a complete insult – she’s not there to babysit Sophie,” says the source.

Are Sonia Kruger and David Campbell collateral damage?

With chaos reigning at Today, rumours are rife that Today Extra co-host Sonia Kruger – whose contract comes up for renewal in the coming months – could end up becoming collateral damage.

Nine bosses are set to move failing Today anchor Georgie Gardner into Sonia’s spot in a bid to keep the 49-year-old happy and see out her contract.

“The word is Georgie will take over the Today Extra job, which leaves Sonia’s future hanging in the balance – and even if she did stay on to do just The Voice, they will have to slash her salary back by

a third,” reveals our source.

“She has the advantage, though, that her partner Craig [McPherson] is one of Seven’s big bosses. Talk is Craig has thrown her name in the mix for the host of Big Brother and is pushing for Sonia

to get the job.”

Meanwhile, if Sonia is to go, what will happen to her co-host David Campbell?

“Georgie’s preference would be to work alongside Richard Wilkins – she and Dickie have a very good relationship,” tells our source, adding that while David, 46, might get dumped from Today Extra, he and Ben Fordham are also being considered for Karl’s spot on Today should the bosses decide he’s too much of a gamble.

Lisa Wilkinson dumped from The Project

Two years after boldly defecting to Ten, former Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson’s tumultuous stint as co-host of The Sunday Project looks like it might finally be over.

Last week, rumours Lisa could be set to depart the current affairs program resurfaced, with talk the mother-of-three is hellbent on scoring an eye-watering two-year, $2 million deal to stay with the network.

The costly contract would be a hard pill to swallow for Ten, which last year suffered near halved ratings on The Sunday Project since Lisa’s introduction on the panel.

While the presenter has been a longstanding fixture on breakfast television, rival executives were quick to label Lisa’s role on The Project as a “failed experiment”.

On top of a declining viewership, Lisa’s role at Ten has been shrouded with allegations of network infighting, with several insiders telling Woman’s Day the star has been on the outer at the network – leaving dark clouds looming over her impending contract negotiations.

If Lisa does go, there are whispers that the big stories she’s been covering are going to be given to former Seven newsreader Chris Bath.

“Chris is a tried and tested news veteran and is incredibly popular with all demographics. She’s also the number one favourite of Ten’s director of news content Ross Dagan, who has admired her work for years,” tells our source.
