It’s been more than 20 years since iconic Aussie children’s show The Saddle Club premiered on screens around the world.

From the iconic ”hello world, this is me” theme song, to the colourful cast of characters (both human and horse), the show is still a comfort watch for many.

Packed with drama and romance, we don’t care where we are, how old we are, or who we’re with; if we hear three taps of that little chime bell, we’re launching into a rendition of ‘Hello World’ that would rival the original.

So cue the popcorn, and get your riding gear ready, nostalgia awaits!

Here’s what the cast of The Saddle Club are up to today…

Sophie Bennett (Stevie Lake)

Nowadays Sophie works in the creative space, directing and producing video content for her own fashion and beauty Youtube channel.

She has also posted some fun throwback videos where she opens up about what it was like growing up on television.

Her last television appearance was in a 2013 episode of Long Story, Short.

Lara Jean Marshall (Lisa Atwood)

Lara moved away from acting once the final scene was shot on The Saddle Club but did make a brief acting resurgence in 2013, acting in The Doctor Blake Mysteries and The Lost Nirvana.

Since then, she made a return to the screen in her most recent acting gig as Georgie May Ford in TV Series We Were Tomorrow(2022).

Keenan MacWilliam (Carole Hanson)

Since wrapping up with her role as Carole on The Saddle Club, Keenan studied radio and television arts at university. Following this, she worked as a graphic designer, art director, producer at now defunct Herself.com (the feminist website launched by Aussie actress Caitlin Stasey) and even had a creative stint at VICE.

From what we can tell from her LinkedIn profile, Keenan is currently freelancing as a director/creative director and works out of New York, LA and Toronto. She hasn’t acted since 2008.

Brett Tucker (Max Regnery)

Much like Marvel actor Paul Rudd, Brett has aged like fine wine in the two decades since The Saddle Club started airing.

He’s since had roles in huge Aussie shows like McLeod’s Daughters and has even had gigs on the likes of Station 19 and Grey’s Anatomy. We’d even go as far to say that Brett has had the biggest career post his days at the stables of Pine Hollows.

You know what they say, once a stud, always a stud.

Heli Simpson (Veronica diAngelo)

The former mean girl of Pine Hollow Stables, Heli has done a full 180 with her life and now works as a doctor and surgeon. She now works as a medical officer at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne and lives an extremely private life.

Don’t worry though, she still has her toes in the acting scene, performing with comedy group Boss Octopus!

Kia Luby (Kristi Cavanaugh)

Alongside co-star Sophie Bennett, Kia has released some songs under their music group Sophie and Kia. But in the 14 years since their last music video was released, not much else has happened.

These days, she still works as an actress and TV presenter and is based out of Melbourne.

Glenn Meldrum (Phil Marsten)

Glenn, much like Heli, has switched gears completely and now works as a barrister’s clerk.

The Saddle Club was his last acting gig.

Janelle Corlass-Brown (Ashley Taylor)

Much like her her co stars, this former child actress has also pivoted away from acting, now working as a psychologist.
