Phrases that will probably get you eliminated on Survivor

You know that when a contestant says “You can trust me”, they’re totally lying.

This season of Australian Survivor has been the most strategic by far. As viewers, we never really know who’s going to get their torch snuffed out until they’re standing right in front of Jonathan LaPaglia who says those infamous words: “The tribe has spoken.”

We’ve seen more blindsides and big moves than ever before, and it makes for seriously entertaining television. This week, the biggest game player, AK, finally got played and the youngest contestant, Ben, bit the dust.

Some of the contestants have dug their own grave by spilling secrets they shouldn’t have or being brash in what they say to other contestants. So, we put together this list of phrases we’ve heard many times before that almost always lead to tribal council.

“You can trust me”

No one can trust anyone. It’s Survivor.

“This will be an easy vote”

If you think it’s easy, you’re going to be surprised.

“I’ve got an idol”

Why would you tell people you have an idol??

“I want to take you to the end”

You’ve probably told everyone that.

“That would be the move of the game”

Don’t you know that saying that out loud jinxes it?

“Samatau/Asaga strong!”

More like ‘majority strong’.

“I’m in a really good position right now”

People will notice this and vote you out.

“I’m voting with the majority”

You can’t just keep coasting along.
