Peter Helliar and Kat Stewart mock the infamous #jacketgate

And we're betting Amber Sherlock can't wait til we all forget it ever happened...

The Logies last night was full of tense moments, like Dave Hughes questioning how long The Bachelor’s Ritchie and Alex have to go (yikes), but Amber Sherlock had to grin and bear a far longer jibe.

The Channel Nine reporter made international headlines after her #jacketgate meltdown and The Project’s Peter Helliar and The Offspring’s Kat Stewart took it on themselves to poke fun at the infamous moment.

The pair arrived on stage and fashion moguls felt their eyes involuntary twitch around the country when Helliar’s top to tail fuchsia ensemble emerged.

As Stewart tried to present the award Helliar interrupted her, refusing to let this crime against fashion continue.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. You need to change. Can we get wardrobe? Can we get wardrobe? I asked you two hours ago, I asked you specifically not to wear fuchsia. You need to put a jacket on.”

The camera panned to Sherlock who was forced to awkwardly smile through the scene while internally begging for the day no one remembers this incident ever happened.

“I genuinely thought you were joking when you said you were going to wear fuchsia,” Kat insists.

“Why would I – who would joke about wearing fuchsia? You’ve been speaking to my mum, haven’t you?” Pete demands.

“Why what did your mum say?”

“She said I looked like I was a Teletubby going to a funeral…” he retorted, which is the truest thing said all night.

After some discussion, it was decided that Stewart would don the rainbow poncho because Helliar was finally nominated for a Gold Logie.

“But you’re not going to win…” a prediction that turned out to be spot on.

Just as Sherlock’s spat flipped when the camera turned on, so too did Helliar turn on the charm after Stewart changed.

“Comedy plays an integral role in any thriving artistic community,” he began. “As does fashion. I think we can all agree, how good does Kat Stewart look tonight?”

The camera didn’t pan back to Sherlock for the rest of the segment, but we’re sure the tense smile was painted on her face just in case.

It’s okay Amber, the public has a very short memory – but the internet does have a nasty habit of eternalising things forever…
