You’re going to want to mark this very important date in the diary.

After a very long wait, season three of Outlander will make its highly-anticipated return to Starz on Sunday, September 10.

The series will consist of 13 episodes based on Diana Gabaldon’s third Outlander novel, Voyager.

Photos from the new season tease Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie’s (Sam Hueghan) painful separation.

The official poster for the third season shows Claire and Jamie on either side of the stones at Craigh na Dun. Claire is in the 1960’s and Jamie is in the 1700’s.

Sam admitted to Vanity Fair that filming scenes without Caitriona felt strange.

“It’s always hard when we’re apart, actually, because she’s a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress,” he says. “But I think it all adds to the reunion—if there’s a reunion, or when there’s a reunion—well you know there’s one in the books. It should be very special.”

Filming for the season took place in both Scotland and Cape Town in South Africa and it officially wrapped up on June 17.

In other exciting news, we’ll finally get a glimpse of Australian actor David Berry in season three of the series. David will play Lord John William Grey.

“Filming has been wonderful,” David tells TV WEEK. “The cast and crew are better than I could have imagined and the people of Scotland and the outlander fans have been extremely welcoming.”

Lord Grey is a former soldier who becomes governor of Ardsmuir Prison and strikes up an unlikely friendship with Jamie.
