The fourth season of Outlander has well and truly wrapped up, with the series airing on FOX Showcase from November 2018 to January 2019 and the DVD hitting our shelves back in July.

But for many Australian fans of the show, the wait is still ongoing as the season is yet to hit Netflix.

Thankfully, some good news has finally found Aussie fans, with Netflix confirming the fourth season will be dropping on the 5th of November.

Based on US author Diana Gabaldon’s fourth book, Drums Of Autumn, season four follows Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) to Wilmington, North Carolina.

Claire and Jamie will be back on Netflix in November.

Their adventures in North Carolina, mixed with their time-travelling daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) and her modern-day love Roger (Richard Rankin), make up the arc of Outlander’s fourth season.

At the end of season three, Jamie and Claire left the Caribbean, bound for Scotland, but were caught in a storm and washed up on a beach in Georgia.

In a twist of fate, they’ve arrived in the country that time-traveller Claire will call home 200 years in the future.

“A big part of the reason they decide they want to stay in America is that emotional bond,” Caitriona told TV WEEK earlier this year, ahead of the fourth season’s premiere on Foxtel.

“Claire raised her daughter in America and knows what’s to come in that country.”

Jamie and Claire are in North Carolina now.

“For Jamie, it’s the idea this is the land that will become his daughter’s land, and if he could [help] shape the politics of that country, then he’d want to do that for her,” Caitriona says. “It’s a beautiful tie they both have to America.”

Meanwhile, Sam says in the fourth season fans “finally sort of get to see them together and settling down and being sort of domestic, almost.”

Much like any other season of Outlander, the fourth season also boasts plenty of passionate love scenes between the couple.

“Do I enjoy it? No, I don’t, but it’s just a part of Outlander,” Sam jokes to TV WEEK. “I enjoy working out and getting a six-pack, but I just wish I could be unbuttoned maybe only three or four buttons for those scenes.”

“It’s just a part of Outlander,” Sam says of his intimate scenes with Caitriona.

Though the fourth season is yet to his Netflix in Australia, fans are already looking forward to the fifth season which is set to premiere in February 2020. We can’t wait!

Outlander Season 4 is coming soon to Netflix.
