Ramsay Street’s feisty villain, Izzy Hoyland, is returning to Neighbours to cause even more trouble – and we cannot wait!

Natalie Bassingthwaighte is reprising her role as the controversial character after a 10-year hiatus. Her extended guest appearance will be shown on screens in February.

The 32-year-old actress took to Instagram to share the exciting news, writing: “IZZY IS BACK!!! Excited to announce I am bringing Izzy back for a mini.

“It has been so fun being back on set and can’t wait for you to see what shenanigans she is up to now. If you loved to hate her before, you will love to hate her even more!!!!”

The mum-of-two told Herald Sun about coming back to the show: “They (Neighbours) have been asking me since I left, I think, to come back on to the show.

“It is not like I never wanted to come back, but I wanted to spread my wings and have some adventures and take on some different roles.

“I have loved the character, I always have. I feel very fortunate to play such a juicy role like that,” she added.

Izzy played homewrecker to Susan and Karl’s marriage and what ensued was a bitter love triangle. So, will she come back to open old wounds?

Alan Fletcher, who plays Karl, said: “It’s almost impossible to describe how excited I am to have Nat back on set. The best thing about it is that it makes me feel 15 years younger – it’s back to 2003. The story is one of the best I’ve ever worked on and fans are going to love it.”

Izzy and Karl had an affair

Izzy is back!

Jackie Woodburne (Susan) is just as excited.

“For Susan Kennedy, having Izzy back on the scene is tremendous because she is the one person Susan can just hate and behave appallingly to, which is so not her usual persona. For me, having Nat on set is such a huge boost of energy and enormous fun. I absolutely love having her around.”
