Could our favourite show McLeod’s Daughters really be coming back? Well, we’re certainly closer than ever before as the series creator Posie Graeme Evans confirmed today that she has created a “cracker” of a storyline.

She wrote to her Facebook page earlier today: “I promised I’d write when I had any news about McLeods to share. Yes, we have a story now, and I think it’s a cracker.

“Just finishing the work we need to do before I talk about the next steps with the Network.”

But the task isn’t over yet. She’s unsure if the show will be picked up, but she’s relying on fans to support it and make noise.

“It’s even money if there’ll be a pick-up or not,” her post continued. “And we’ve all got to want to do it and that may be talking to get us all over the line. But if you support the idea of McLeod’s Daughters coming back let me know. It will help – a lot.

“This has been a long time coming but maybe, just maybe, we’re a step closer.”

As previously reported by TV WEEK, the Nine Network confirmed in July that they were in talks with Evans.

“We know how much everybody loves McLeod’s Daughters, it’s an important part of our heritage,” a spokesperson for the network told The Daily Telegraph.

“Nothing is commissioned, or set in stone.”

The response came off the back of two social media posts from cast members Michala Banas, Simmone Jade Mackinnon and Rachel Carpani.

The trio uploaded a picture of their three characters Stevie (Simmone), Kate (Michala) and Jodi (Rachel) with the caption, “Watch this space…”

The series ran for eight seasons from 2001 to 2009. We hope to see a revival soon!
