There’s no denying Joel Creasey’s television hosting skills have been in demand.

But when the comedian was approached to do Channel Seven’s new dating show Take Me Out, he knew it was a match made in heaven.

“When I first got the call, I was like, ‘Oh, really – me?'” Joel, 28, tells TV WEEK.

“The more I thought about it, the more I thought, ‘Actually it has to be me.’ This is a dream job.”

Take Me Out is based on cult dating series If You Are The One, which is a massive ratings hit in China and airs here on SBS VICELAND.

Joel is thrilled to be hosting the new show.

The Aussie version brings in one eligible bachelor to impress 30 single ladies.

If any of the “Flirty Thirty” women aren’t impressed by what they see or hear, they simply turn out their light and wait for the next single man to come along.

According to Joel, the ladies don’t hold back.

“Some of those girls could not have smashed that red light quicker!” he recalls.

They also tell it like it is.

“It’s not scripted at all,” he adds. “Those girls’ answers are – I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing – very real.”

Meet the “Flirty Thirty”.

“If you were milk, I would just become lactose intolerant” is just one of the many sassy one-liners we can expect out of the “Flirty Thirty” panel.

Amid a sea of reality dating shows, Joel says the brutal honesty of Take Me Out sets it apart.

“I feel like this is the antidote,” he explains.

“We know why people go on dating shows – some for genuine reasons and some for a bit of screen time. I call people out on that and call it how I see it.”

Take Me Out Australia airs Monday and Tuesday, 7:30pm on Channel Seven.
