Despite all his gardening, in the end Jarrod Woodgate’s unwavering devotion for Sophie Monk failed to get him that final rose.

Jarrod was left devastated when Sophie picked Stu Laundy as the winner of The Bachelorette Australia.

While it may not have been the most surprising choice for the 37-year-old Bardot singer, after all Stu was touted as the front-runner from the very beginning.

Jarrod’s efforts should still be commended.

The 31-year-old was always consistent with one thing – he was in love with Sophie Monk.

At home visits, the vineyard manager bared his soul, telling Sophie, “I’ve fallen in love with you!”

“Hopefully at some point you can find this in your heart and see us as a future or, you know, have a future at least.”

Alas, Jophie will never be a thing.

While we commiserate his heartbreak, let’s celebrate the many tender moments shared between Sophie Monk and Jarrod Woodgate.

Scroll through and relive their now-ill-fated romance, in pictures!

Jarrod Woodgate waltzed into Sophie Monk’s life.

Like an eager beaver with his wine-themed meet-cute at the ready, Jarrod began his one-man show with one task: Woo Sophie Monk.

His tactics worked… The 31-year-old landed himself the very first date of the season.

Soaring to new heights, Jarrod thought he was ready to fall.

The power of the blonde bombshell made Jarrod drunk in love for the remainder of the series.

Sophie was hooked!

She had finally met a nice guy.

Sadly, in this case, the nice guy lived up to the stereotype – finishing runner-up.

Still, there were some really lovely moments!

And isn’t it better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all?

Actually, Jarrod told NW, “If she doesn’t choose me, I don’t think I could handle it.”

The boy was smitten.

Speaking about their kiss, “I still can’t get over it. It was out of this world! It was a very powerful kiss. The connection we had was …”
