It’s long been said that Christmas is a time to give. But, it’s also a time to give back.

While the holiday season can be a joyous occasion for many, for others it can bring tremendous stress and financial hardship.

For those less fortunate, in need and even those who are on the tightest of budgets, Christmas can quickly become the worst time of the year.

Particularly after the year we’ve all endured which saw many devastated by the horrific fires that ravaged the country in January and COVID which cost many their jobs, this Christmas will be harder than most.

If you’re wondering how you can help this festive season The Salvation Army is a great place to start. They’re even hosting a TV special, Christmas With The Salvos, airing on Channel 7 on December 12 at 1pm.

The TV event will star Samantha Jade, Adam Goodes and Fast Ed.

“”As a Salvos ambassador, I know how much they do to bring hope to people, particularly at Christmas,” Samantha said.

At Christmas, The Salvation Army will distribute more than 30,000 hampers and vouchers, give out more than 500,000 gifts and toys and support more than 50,000 families in need.

The Salvos will also provide more than 130,000 meals, more than 65,000 beds for those who need a place to stay and provide more than 7,600 families with accommodation during the festive season.
