Last year’s Home And Away finale was big – hearts were broken and lives were lost (we still haven’t gotten over Kat’s death). So, while we have a few more weeks until the new season is back on our screens, we can’t help but think about what could be in store for Summer Bay’s finest.
Our biggest question? WHO IS THAT RIVER BOY?
In the teaser (which you can watch above), there’s a brief flash of shirtless men walking along the beach with the words ‘blood and sand’ tattooed on one of the guy’s back, much like Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton (Stephen Peacocke).
“Who are they?” Tori (Penny McNamee) asks.
Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) replies, “The River Boys.”
“What are they doing here?” Tori adds.
“Nothing good,” Alf says.
Who’s the new bad boy?
Here are our theories about how/why this new bad boy has a connection to the Bay.
He’s a half-brother
Casey, Darryl (Brax) and Heath Braxton
This mystery man wouldn’t be the first half-Braxton-brother to join Home And Away. Nic Westaway came onto the show as Kyle Braxton, son of Danny Braxton. Maybe Danny had more tattooed offspring? The Braxton legacy was a big one, so perhaps a new sibling hailing from Mangrove River will want to carry it on.
He’s a childhood friend or cousin
If he’s not a half-brother, perhaps he was still close to the Braxton fam? We know there’s a purpose for him to show his face in town.
He’s Brax’s son, Casey
Brax meeting little Casey for the first time.
What if – wait for it – the next season is a time jump and the River Boy is actually Brax and Ricky Sharpe’s (Bonnie Sveen) son, Casey? Yeah, it’s a completely wild theory but we wouldn’t be surprised if one day the little man decides to follow in his dad’s footsteps.
He’s Alf’s long lost grandson
Okay, this might not be likely considering Alf’s other grandson Ryder (Lukas Radovich) just came onto the scene, but anything is possible in the Bay!
It’s someone completely new
We don’t know much about Mangrove River but we’re sure its male population is made up of more than a few guys. Perhaps this new character has grown up hearing about how the Braxton brothers made their mark on the town of Summer Bay, and wants to do the same.
