The Love Actually U.S. reunion is actually perfect

Just when you thought Love Actually couldn’t get any better, McDreamy walks in to steal the show.
Love Actually

Back in March, UK viewers were treated to Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day Actually reunion special.

Last week, to correspond with Red Nose Day in America, a second version of the short film was released – this time with a very welcome cameo from Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey.

So how does McDreamy fit in? Well, remember Laura Linney’s failed romance with Karl (Rodrigo Santoro)? Turns out, she dodged a bullet, though we appreciate it might have been difficult to see at the time when he was shirtless on her bed…

In the present day, Laura’s character is still devoted to her job and used to working late nights, however, on the other end of all those phone calls (note: her ring tone hasn’t changed in ten years) is her incredibly handsome and devoted husband Patrick Dempsey. CUE ALL THE FEELS.

So what are the rest of the gang up to? The Prime Minster of England (Hugh Grant) is still dancing his was through number 10 Dowling Street, though the playlist has been somewhat updated… He’s also still now married to Natalie (Martine McCutcheon).

Juliet (Keira Knightly) and Peter (Chiwetel Ejiofor) are also still happily married. Their friend Mark (Andrew Lincoln) has fulfilled his wish of marrying a super model and is now with Kate Moss.

Our favourite young Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) has grown up, and is set to propose to his primary school crush Johanna (Olivia Olson) with his step-dad’s (Liam Neeson) approval, of course.

Meanwhile Colin Firth is still struggling with his Portuguese lessons.

Alas, it’s not all happy days. Life is a little bit duller for rock star Billy Mack (Bill Nighy), who’s good friend and manager Joe, tragically passed away of a heart attack.

Grab the tissues and settle in for the ride. Watch the full video below.
