The online streaming service said that the reboot of the show will be titled Fuller House and will begin airing next year.

John Stamos, who played Uncle Jesse Katsopolis on the sitcom, revealed he will produce the show and reprise his role. Although the details of the plot have been kept under wraps, it’s understood that the new format will follow Candace Cameron Bure’s character, D.J Tanner, after she is left pregnant and widowed.

There is no offical word yet on whether the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will make a return to the show that launched their careers but the rumour mill is going into overdrive that the talented twins will make a cameo.

Netflix said talks with the Olsen twins and their onscreen dad, Bob Saget are “ongoing”.

In a joint statement, the executive producers expressed their excitement over the reboot.

“The love you saw on the show was real. The cast has remained a loving family off screen all these years. We are as excited as our fans to finally bring Full House back to life”

The Olsen twins got their break sharing the role of Michelle Tanner on the sitcom.

In another statement, Netflix Vice President of Original Content Cindy Holland acknowledged the huge following “Full House” still has all these years on.

“As big fans of the original Full House, we are thrilled to be able to introduce Fuller House‘s new narrative to existing fans worldwide, who grew up on the original, as well as a new generation of global viewers that have grown up with the Tanners in syndication”.

According to the US network that airs re-runs, the comedy still fetches an audience of 1.5 million people.

13 episodes of the revival have been ordered and we just can’t wait to see our favourite stars back on the small screen.
