Ewan McGregor, is that you?

Ewan McGregor is unrecognisable in the latest trailer for Fargo season three.

Ewan plays not one, but two central characters – twin brothers Emmit and Ray Stussy.

Despite being twins, the Stussy brothers have very little in common.

Emmit is successful, handsome and wealthy. Ray, on the other hand, is overweight, balding and barely getting by. Cue sibling rivalry.

If you’re not already across the Fargo franchise, the series, written by Noah Hawley, is inspired by the 1996 film of the same name, which was written and directed by the Coen brothers. The Coen brothers also work as executive producers on the current series.

Each season is a standalone story, with new cast and characters.

However, the series is still set in the same universe as the original film, despite the shift in characters and eras.

The Emmy-award winning first season starred Billy Bob Thornton, Allison Tolman, Colin hanks and Martin Freeman. Season two featured Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Jean Smart and Ted Danson.

Carrie Coon, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, David Thewlis and Jim Gaffigan will be joining Ewan McGregor for season three.

This week it was also revealed that Olivia Sandoval (Medium) will also be appearing in the third season as police officer Winnie Lopez in a multi-episode arc.

Fargo will premiere on SBS with double episodes starting from 8:30pm on Wednesday, May 17.
