David Tennant and Michael Sheen to star in Good Omens

Get set for a good comedy-horror with an A-list cast!
Good Omens

Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex, Passengers) and David Tennant (Broadchurch, Doctor Who) will lead an all-star cast in the series adaptation of Good Omens.

The show will be based on Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman’s internationally best-selling novel.

The six part fantasy drama is being brought to life by BBC Studios for Amazon Prime Video.

If you haven’t read the novel, you’re in for an interesting ride.

Michael Sheen plays Aziraphale – an angel and rare book dealer. David Tennant will star as Crowley – a fast living demon. The odd pair have lived on Earth for a long time and currently enjoy their lifestyles and each other’s company. Which is why they both find it very inconvenient that the according to a Divine Plan – the world is expected to end next Saturday.

“I first read Good Omens as a teenager and it’s been one of my favourite stories ever since,” says Michael.

“To be part of the team entrusted with bringing it alive on screen is a bit of a dream come true to be honest. To work alongside Neil, who I think is one of the greatest storytellers of all time, is incredibly exciting. And, just like the rest of the world, I’m a huge fan of David’s so I relish trying to save it with him.”

David Tennant is equally excited about the series.

“Michael Sheen, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and directed by Douglas Mackinnon, it’s a dream team and a dream gig,” he says. “I am very excited that I’ve been asked to be part of this amazing project. Bring on the Apocalypse!”

The series will be directed by Douglas Mackinnon (Dr Who, Outlander). The executive producers of Good Omens are Neil Gaiman (American Gods) and Chris Sussman (Fleabag) for BBC Studios; Rob Wilkins (Choosing to Die) and Rod Brown (Going Postal) for Narrativia; and Douglas Mackinnon (Sherlock).

Good Omens will launch on PrimeVideo.com in 2019.
