Season seven of Cold Feet gets a premiere date

We don’t have to wait long.

John Thomson, the star of Cold Feet, has confirmed that season seven will premiere on Monday September 11.

John shared the news during his appearance on Loose Women yesterday.

The series, which was hugely popular in the late ’90s to early ’00s, returned for a sixth season last year.

The seventh season was commissioned off the back of the success of the recent revival.

The show celebrated its 20th anniversary in March this year.

Reflecting on the show’s success, creator Mike Bullen said, “Twenty years ago, when Cold Feet began, I was just trying to write a show that would amuse and hopefully move my own generation.

“That remains the aim. It’s just that, with the passage of time, we’re a generation older. We don’t face the same issues, but there are still issues to be faced. I think that’s why the reboot worked.”

The reboot picked up 20 years after the events of the last series and saw Adam’s friends trying to be supportive after his recent marriage following a whirlwind romance.

According to ITV, the reboot was its “most successful drama launch of 2016”.

Mike believes the success is due to the fact that the storyline is still very much moving forward and not focused on the past.

“We weren’t a tribute act to ourselves; we’ve still got something to say,” Mike said. “”I’ve met quite a few viewers who knew of the show because their parents watched the original, and are now fans in their own right. I get a huge buzz out of that.”

The seventh season of the series which features original cast members, James Nesbitt, John Thomson, Robert Bathurst, Hermione Norris and Fay Ripley, was filmed in Manchester. We can’t wait to see what the gang are up to when they return to our screens later this year.
