He wowed the crowd during his performance of his hit song ‘Fresh Eyes’ at the TV WEEK Logie Awards, and now multi-platnum selling pop artist Andy Grammer has announced he will be touring Australia and New Zealand for the first time ever in October.

And if tonight’s show is any indication as to what fans can expect when he returns later in the year, you’d be crazy to miss it.

Strumming his guitar, the 33-year-old rocked it out in front of Australia’s biggest names in television, including The Project’s Carrie Bickmore and Today Show host Karl Stefanoivic – all of whom couldn’t resist singing along to the smash hit which has already reached number five on the ARIA chart and has exceeded 180 million streams on Spotify.

“This is the first song I’ve had that’s gone all across the world,” Andy tells TV WEEK.

“It’s pretty incredible to have such a far reach with a song I wrote in my living room. It’s really special.”

The US muso will be heading back our way in October.

Of his time Down Under Andy, who is expecting his first child with wife Aiija in July, says it’s been a blast.

“I love Melbourne,” he says.

“It’s genuinely one of my favourite places to come. I know people say that in interviews, but it really is. When I explain to people who haven’t been about to go, I say, Australia is like America only slightly better. It really is.”

And while Andy always has a ball whenever he visits, he admits performing at televisions night of nights has been a highlight.

“It’s fun to get all dolled up,” he jokes.

“Sometimes it can get a bit tedious, but in a different country, it’s fun. Give me any reason to come to Australia.”

So does Andy have a favourite Aussie TV show?

“I’ve recently gotten into Glitch and I’ve watched it and I want more,” he reveals. “It’s wonderful and I’m all in.”
