American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the next season of the hit horror show will have a ‘crossover’ theme.

Grab on to your dramatic black capes, because season eight of the FX anthology series will combine season one’s Murder House, with season three’s Coven, for a spooky witch-filled plot.

In case you need refreshing, season one took place in a haunted house in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, season three followed a young girl who was sent to a ‘gifted’ boarding school in New Orleans after discovering she was a witch.

Ryan confirmed the crossover in an excited tweet. He also revealed the show will be airing in September, 2018, which is much sooner than fans believed.

“The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won’t be happening next year…because it’s happening THIS YEAR,” Ryan writes. “AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER.”

Murphy revealed back in April that AHS alums Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates will be back for season eight. He gave insight to two characters, revealing Evan will play a ‘comedic hair stylist’ and his grandmother will be played by the incredible Joan Collins.

He also said the upcoming season would be set in the ‘near-distant future.’ For now, Ryan is keeping tight-lipped on all other details.

Other potential AHS stars who could return include Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Jessica Lange, Kate Mara, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Lady Gaga, Frances Conroy, Angela Bassett, Billie Lourde and Emma Roberts.

We can’t WAIT for September.
