Presenting The Living Room together for a decade, Dr Chris Brown and Amanda Keller forged a close co-worker bond.

But co-workers no more, as yesterday it was announced that the popular TV vet is leaving the 10 Network, the network in which he had roles hosting not only The Living Room but also I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

Hosting I’m A Celeb for one last time in 2023, Dr Chris Brown will be then furloughing to the Seven network, for projects that are yet to be announced.

But whilst the news was a shock to most, Chris had obviously discussed the move with his work pal, as Amanda gave listeners of her radio show, Jonesy and Amanda on WSFM, new intel on why Dr Chris Brown made the big career move.

The TV Week Gold Logie nominee was supportive of Chris’ move, criticising the 10 Network in the process.

“In terms of television he’s doing I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, which pretty much goes for a month, and then he has 11 months where he’s looking for a TV project,” Amanda said on the radio show.

“He’s got ideas for his own programs and Channel Seven have said come and do it over here and all power to him.

“Why would Chris not jump somewhere where he’s offered a variety of work for a year?”

It’s been reported that the contract with Seven is for two years, meaning that if The Living Room returns to our screens – it’s currently being ‘rested’ – Dr Chris Brown will not be joining his fellow co-hosts Amanda, Barry Du Bois and Miguel Maestre.

Though The Living Room has been ‘rested’, if it does return, Dr Chris Brown will no longer be a host.

The 44-year-old vet has said to be pocketing more than $1 million a year at Seven.

In a statement released about his big network shake-up, Brown said, “I’m not entirely sure my old access pass works but once we get over that hurdle and I’m back from the jungle, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into some exciting new projects in the second half of the year and beyond with Seven.”

Starting officially at Seven on July 1, what Dr Chris Brown’s roles will actually be have yet to be announced.
