Beetlejuice, beetlejuice, beetlejuice!

In a day full of classic revivals, actress Winona Ryder has announced that 80s classic Beetlejuice will be returning for a sequel.

The rumours have been floating around for a while now, but the actress was able to confirm the speculation on the Late Night with Seth Myers last night.

“I think I can confirm it,” said Winona, 43, “Because Tim Burton did this interview – like, it was very hush-hush, top secret.”

“And then he was doing some press for Big Eyes and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah we’re doing it and Winona’s going to be in it,” she laughed.

But she wasn’t able to provide us with any juicy details of the upcoming sequel, besides her own starring role.

“I really don’t know much more than anybody else,” she confessed.

Winona could hardly contain her excitement about the news!

Movie mastermind Tim Burton does, though!

The Edward Scissorhands director spoke to IGN recently, and revealed that he was busily tracking down Michael Keaton to get him to reprise his striped-suited role.

“There’s only one Betelgeuse, and that’s Michael. There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever,” said Tim, “I miss that character. There’s something that’s cathartic and amazing about it. I think it’s closer than ever.”

But Tim’s Michael Keaton quest is currently looking good.

The actor, who recently earned an Oscar nomination for his role in Birdman, said previously that “if Tim was in, he was in”.

“I’ve e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff,” said Michael in 2014, “I always said that’s the one thing I’d like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another.”

Go ahead guys, make our millennium!
