The incident occurred outside the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, where Shia currently has an anti-Trump art installation on display. The display, which is set to protest against Trump’s presidency for the entirety of his four year term, consists of a sparse white wall which features the words, “He will not divide us,” scrawled boldly in black paint.

Underneath the words, a camera films the installation’s spectators. Shia has invited the public to participate by saying the phrase into the camera, which streams live.

Tensions are high in the United States as the reality of a Donald Trump presidency settles in.
