Consider this mystery solved! The cast of One Tree Hill are set to star in Lifetime’s holiday movie The Christmas Contract.

Earlier this week, Hilarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer), Danneel Ackles (Rachel Gatina), Robert Buckley (Clay Evans), and Antwon Tanner (Antwon “Skills” Taylor) caused fan mayhem when they shared a series of behind-the-scenes snaps from a secret meeting.

Fans were left wondering if their reunion meant a One Tree Hill revival was in the works. Alas, it’s actually a new Lifetime movie involving four members of the cast.

The film will debut as part of the network’s annual – and incredibly cheesy – It’s A Wonderful Lifetime holiday line-up.

The Christmas Contract will follow Jolie (Hilarie), a Louisiana native who returns home for the holidays for the first time since her split from Foster (Hunter Burke).

When Jolie discovers her ex-boyfriend is bringing home a new girlfriend, her best friend Naomi (Danneel) offers up her own brother Jack (Robert) as Jolie’s Christmas companion.

Robert Buckley and Hilarie Burton reunite to play Jolie and Jack in The Christmas Contract.

Naomi draws up a ~contract~ for the pair so that they both ‘get something’ out of this fake relationship, and if you know anything about bad romantic comedies you can see where we’re going with this.

What are the chances Jolie and Jack end up falling for each other during this Christmas contract ruse? About a million to one… and we’ll be there with popcorn, ready to watch it all go down.

Jordan Ladd (Cabin Fever), Cheryl Ladd (Charlie’s Angels), Bruce Boxleitner (Tron), Jason London (Dazed and Confused), Teri Wyble (The Walking Dead), and Ritchie Montgomery (Baskets) are also set to star in the film.

For those who don’t know, the Lifetime movie holiday line-up is famous for featuring gooey ‘so-bad-it’s-good’ films with cringe-worthy romances. There’s twinkly lights! Snow! Awkward dialogue! And, of course, mistletoe!

The latest Christmas-themed film is sure to be an absolute banger, so be sure to add it to your binge watching list in the 2018 holiday season.

Last year, even Netflix got on board the cheese-train with their own gooey offerings: A Christmas Prince and A Christmas Inheritance.

A Christmas Prince has scored its own sequel (watch the trailer in the player at the top of the article), set for release later this year.

It seems at Christmas, people just want to watch a film that makes them feel warm and fuzzy. Who’d have thought?
