Jared Leto has unveiled his drastic look as the Joker so we decided to compare the actor's interpretation of the Batman villain compared to past Jokers like Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson.

Why so seriously terrifying, Jared?

We finally have the first look of Jared Leto’s very creepy portrayal of the legendary Batman villain The Joker in new film, Suicide Squad.

The 43-year-old Oscar Award-winning star is barely recognisable as he holds his hands to his lime green locks and screams.

Suicide Squad writer and director David Ayer shared the first photo of Jared in the role via social media, with the caption: “The Suicide Squad wishes you a Happy Anniversary Mr. J! #Joker75 #SuicideSquad @WarnerBrosEnt @DCComics.”

The film, slated for an August 2016 release, is about a secret government agency that hires villains to execute black ops missions.

Jared will be joined by British model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne, who will play Enchantress, Australia’s Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith is set to be Deadshot, Jesse Eisenberg will take on Lex Luthor and Scott Eastwood has an unnamed role.

Batman’s nemesis has been played by many famous actors, most notably the late Heath Ledger who won a posthumous Oscar for his role as The Joker in The Dark Knight. The Joker has also been played Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill and Cesar Romero.

Jared underwent a complete transformation, cutting off his beautiful long locks.

The Suicide Squad is expected to hit cinemas in August 2016. The stellar cast include Cara Delevingne, Margot Robbie and Will Smith.

The late Heath Ledger is one of the most notable actors to portray Batman’s nemesis and won a posthumous Oscar for his role.

Jack Nicholson potrayed The Joker, in the 1989 movie “Batman.”

Cesar Romero played the iconic character in the 1966 episode of the “Batman” TV series.

The force is with Mark Hamill who voiced the villain in the animation The Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker.

The latest Batman-inspired TV show, Gotham, will introduce the legendary character in the next season of the show and will be played by Cameron Monaghan.
