In delightfully festive news for Halloween month, Collider has confirmed that Disney Plus is reviving the 1993 classic Hocus Pocus with a sequel.

The exciting new streaming service, which launches in November, is set to house original content along with classic films and series.

A sequel to Hocus Pocus is in the mix, along with a new live-action Lady and the Tramp remake. Yep, there’s a whole lot of nostalgia hitting the screen when Disney Plus launches… and we’re not mad about it.

For those who don’t know, the cult classic Hocus Pocus followed a trio of witches, who were resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts, 300 years after they were almost hung for their villainous crimes.

Awoken in 1993, the witches planned to continue their goal of sucking the souls out of all of Salem’s children, in a bid to regain their youth. Though they were thwarted by the children, the film ended with somewhat of a cliffhanger as the witches spell book opened its eye, revealing it was still alive.

The OG stars Bette Midler (Winifred), Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah), and Kathy Najimy (Mary) are not yet attached to the sequel, but fans have found a glimmer of hope in the way of an Instagram comment.

Sarah sparked interest by sharing a photo from Hocus Pocus in honour of Halloween.

Per Comments By Celebs, when a fan asked if there was any chance of a sequel, SJP replied “We have all said yes. Now we wait.”

We’ve never been more excited!

Mary, Winifred and Sarah are iconic.

SJP hints the trio could return.

With the sequel only in the early stages, fans will have to wait a while before they return to Salem. However, new Disney+ subscribers will have more than enough to watch when the service launches in November.

Disney has confirmed more than 600 titles will be available from the launch day! See the full list of movies and TV shows coming to Disney Plus here.
