If you’re a fan of Home and Away, chances are you’ll have heard of the infamous lighthouse walk located at Palm Beach – the very same location where the show is filmed.

Yep, there’s no denying that iconic white structure that sits atop a steep, greenery covered hill in Sydney’s northern beaches.

It’s one that thousands of fans have flocked to on a sunny day, later to proudly claim they too have completed the lighthouse trek that appears so often in the popular TV show.

But in an ironic turn of events, one of the show’s longest-standing actresses has actually never done the walk herself, despite being within walking distance to it for decades.

On Tuesday, she decided to change that.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lynne McGranger finally decided to take the plunge and trek up the slopes to the Palm Beach Lighthouse.

Like many before her, she snapped a selfie as she got to the top, writing: “It’s only taken me 28 years to get up here. (I was walking very slowly).”

She added: “What a beautiful part of the world. #SummerBay #palmbeach #lighthouse”

Lynne stopped off at the iconic lighthouse point on Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, we here are very proud of Lynne for completing the walk, though our surprise at the fact she’d never done it before was reflected in the comments.

“Are you serious????” wrote one fan, with the actress commenting back a simple, “Yep” with a shocked face emoji.

Another wrote: “Can’t believe this is the first time you’ve been up there!”

Honestly, we think Lynne is probably thinking the same – that view is stun-ning.

Lynne has served on the Aussie soap for almost its entire 32 year reign, and is up there as being one of the most recognisable faces on the show (alongside Ray Meagher, of course).

Playing the role of foster carer Irene, the friendly Summer Bay locale has seen a number of misunderstood, and at times, very troubled teens through her beach-side home.

At 67 years old, Lynne is more radiant than ever as she continues to grace Australia’s screens.

She’s even made a name for herself on Instagram as a low-key style influencer, showing off some practical, yet chic at-home outfits throughout lockdown.

“I refreshed my whole winter wardrobe whilst in Iso, starting with the basics from the ground up,” she wrote on Instagram back in June.

Now, with the lighthouse walk done and dusted, and with some serious style game to boot, we reckon Lynne is one force to be reckoned with.

We’re anticipating she’s got a fair few treks up Palm Beach to come.
